they say hard work never hurt anybody.....and i do work hard most of the time....but i have to wonder about my cushy life when i see people toil and earn a pittance for their hard work...sometimes its manual labour and sometimes incredibly long hours....and sometimes voluntary work....is when i feel what i do pales in comparison and significance....and is not worth talking about..

It is only a matter of perspective. You can not really know how the one who works physically all day feels about the amount he receives in exchange. Perhaps that person values the ability to be out of doors, to feel tired at night, to see the changes they cause to occur in the physical world.
Hard work can be very satisfying for reasons beyond compensation. What is adequate or abundant compensation for one may seem inadequate or a pittance to another but not necessarily so to the one receiving it.
Whether work is hard or not is also a matter of perspective. Thank you for sharing yours.
